Unlock

Mac control and file transfer in one app.

Unlock has two consumer-facing areas: Mac Unlock for nearby wake/lock controls, and File Transfer for moving files directly between devices or through your own cloud account.

Mac Unlock

Pair a trusted iPhone or iPad with your Mac. Local Wi‑Fi is used first, with Tailscale as a fallback when configured. The app does not store your Mac login password and does not bypass the macOS login screen.

🔗

Pair once

Discover an available Mac, enter/confirm the pairing flow and store the trusted relationship on your devices.

☀️

Wake request

Send a nearby wake/user-activity request to the paired Mac when remote wake is enabled.

🔒

Lock Mac

Send the system lock action when remote lock is enabled and the required macOS permissions are available.

File Transfer

Select photos, videos or files, choose a destination, and transfer. Nearby devices can accept or decline. A temporary browser receiver can also expose selected files through a private-network link while the receiver is active.

Google Drive & OneDrive

Cloud Connect is optional. You sign in directly with your own Google or Microsoft account. Connected drives then appear as send/receive destinations.

G

Google Drive

Unlock can list Drive files, download a file you choose, and upload selected files into the app’s transfer workflow. It requests Drive read access plus app-file access.

M

Microsoft OneDrive

Unlock uses Microsoft identity and Graph permissions to read your profile identity needed for sign-in and read/write files in your OneDrive.

🔑

Token storage

OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in Apple Keychain on the device so the connection can be reused until you disconnect or revoke access.

What Unlock does not do

The consumer experience is designed around direct control: no Mac-password collection, no silent cloud account connection and no advertising use of cloud data.

No cloud sign-in by defaultGoogle/Microsoft connection starts only when you choose it.
