INJECTING METADATA • MODULE 90

Google Photos Metadata

Restore useful metadata from the Google Photos sidecar JSON that belongs to the media file.

WHAT MODULE 90 DOES

Google Photos Metadata, step by step.

Find media + JSON

Discover supported media and the Google Photos sidecar that corresponds to it.

Inject supported fields

Write supported date, location and other useful sidecar information through the correct photo/video metadata path.

Validate safely

Show processed/total progress and leave files unchanged when a safe media-to-sidecar match cannot be established.

WHEN TO USE IT

Use Module 90 for Google Photos Takeout media whose sidecar JSON contains useful information missing from the file.

Automatic folder cleanup

After Module 90 completes successfully, the shared bulk housekeeping pass removes genuinely empty folders and continues upward through empty parents throughout the working library. Required roots and folders containing media, sidecars, metadata, databases or any other file remain. Hashes and reusable media assets stay cached; temporary comparison math clears automatically. This does not delete media or require a separate Cleanup action. The same behavior applies when started from Mac or iPad.
