INJECTING METADATA • MODULE 92

Date from Filename

Recover capture date/time from supported filename patterns when embedded media dates are missing or unusable.

WHAT MODULE 92 DOES

Date from Filename, step by step.

Recognise filename date

Read supported date/time patterns encoded in filenames.

Convert to media date

Write the interpreted date into the appropriate media metadata fields.

Skip uncertain names

Do not alter a file when its filename cannot be confidently interpreted.

WHEN TO USE IT

Use Module 92 when the filename still carries the correct date but the embedded date does not.

Automatic folder cleanup

After Module 92 completes successfully, the shared bulk housekeeping pass removes genuinely empty folders and continues upward through empty parents throughout the working library. Required roots and folders containing media, sidecars, metadata, databases or any other file remain. Hashes and reusable media assets stay cached; temporary comparison math clears automatically. This does not delete media or require a separate Cleanup action. The same behavior applies when started from Mac or iPad.
